
PPSV is pleased to announce that Robert S. Lavet, former General Counsel to SLM Corporation (Sallie Mae), has joined the Education Practice Group as a Principal effective July 14, 2008. Mr. Lavet’s detailed understanding of federal and private student lending will be of significant strategic value to the many colleges, universities, lenders, guaranty agencies, educational associations and other higher education concerns that rely upon PPSV for compliance advice. At Sallie Mae, Mr. Lavet managed legal affairs, corporate compliance, and student loan servicing policy functions. His extensive experience on regulatory, transactional, litigation, and securities matters will be especially useful to PPSV’s educational, healthcare and tax exempt clients.
